OUR MISSION

The Hockey Foundation's mission is to use ice hockey to reinforce character strengths, improve the quality of life and empower children in less fortunate regions of the world. 

OUR VISION

In its purest form, hockey can permanently and positively change the lives of all that come in contact with the game, as it can build and reinforce character strengths such as accountability, honesty, teamwork, selflessness, discipline and resiliency.  Our vision is to reach children in communities around the world and use ice hockey to positively influence their lives, in the hopes of creating a better tomorrow...all while having some fun!

We don't claim to be able to solve all of the problems of the world, but since sports is recognized as being fundamental in the development of children (and adults!) by governments around the world (including the USA and Canada.), the United Nations, and countless foundations, we think we can do our part to make a difference nonetheless.

Our goal is to connect players from around the world.  We want to see friendly hockey games being played by people of different races, religions, genders, social status, professions, etc.  Yes, sports can create rivalries, but it can also create bonds.  That's our focus!

Just because hockey isn't as widely played around the world as soccer/football, nor does it command the same global attention as baseball or American football, hockey players, coaches, referees and fans know that hockey is a game that thrives on passion, determination and teamwork in ways that don't compute when compared to other sports.  And that says nothing about the conditioning required to play such a high intensity game through a unique mode of transportation: ice skating.

We use our mission and passion for the game (as well as having fun!) as a guiding light to making a difference for as many children as possible.  That's our goal and our commitment.

THE HOCKEY FOUNDATION'S VALUES & PRINCIPLES
